Chili Con Carne
Ingredients
- 1 kg ground lean beef
- 1 red bell pepper
- ½ red onion
- 1 spicy green pepper
- 300 gr boiled black turtle beans
- 300 gr kidney beans
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 3.5 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 2 cups water
- salt, to taste
Instructions
- Put the beans in water, in the fridge overnight.
- Chop the red bell pepper, spicy pepper and onion.
- Cook the black and red beans in water over the stove for 40 minutes.
- Remove beans from stove and drain from water.
- Heat the olive oil in a pan. Cook the beef until greyish/brownish from all sides.
- Add all the ingredients, including the beans, to the beef and stir.
- Cook on a medium heat and onces reaches boiling point, lower and simmer for 40 minutes.
- Add salt, to taste
