Chili Con Carne

Lean beef, sorts of beans, peppers and tomatoes. You can't go wrong with this chili con carne recipe. Quick and easy, this dish is a favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg ground lean beef
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • ½ red onion
  • 1 spicy green pepper
  • 300 gr boiled black turtle beans
  • 300 gr kidney beans
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3.5 cups crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 cups water
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  • Put the beans in water, in the fridge overnight.
  • Chop the red bell pepper, spicy pepper and onion.
  • Cook the black and red beans in water over the stove for 40 minutes.
  • Remove beans from stove and drain from water.
  • Heat the olive oil in a pan. Cook the beef until greyish/brownish from all sides.
  • Add all the ingredients, including the beans, to the beef and stir.
  • Cook on a medium heat and onces reaches boiling point, lower and simmer for 40 minutes.
  • Add salt, to taste
